Pastor’s Message
The psalmist says “Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.” – Psalm 39:4
All of this reminds me how important it is to be intentional about how we spend our time. We can easily lose track of minutes, hours, days or more and spend far more than we intended on an activity that we don’t value as much as others. We can feel like many of life’s tasks are routine, and we wish we didn’t need to do them so often.We can neglect our need for sabbath, and feel bad when we need time to rest, because our world advertises a need to always be productive. Even God’s very self needed to rest, and we are commanded to as well. I hope you find ways to rest in these warm summer months. I hope that you find others who understand our need for rest and sabbath, to help lighten your load, or encourage and participate in resting along with you.
I hope that you find God, who doesn’t require you to have a perfectly clean home, or life in order to start loving you. Remember: we love because God first loved us (1 John 4:19).

Many have asked about the blessing I use at the end of most of our worship services, and where it comes from. The author, Amiel lived in the 1800’s and was a philosopher, poet and mystic whose journal has been published. I first heard these words when another colleague used them in a benediction, and they spoke to me. These words remind me of God’s love and kindness for us and the world, and our call to love others. When we lose someone we knew or loved, we are painfully reminded that life is short.

The beautiful stained glass window sanctuary is accessible to all, and we encourage children to worship there as well or utilize the professionally staffed nursery. Communion is an important part of all Sunday services, and all who believe are invited to partake in the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
