If you wish to share your feedback please email the Call Committee at bethanyenglishcall@gmail.com
Attention all BELC members
Please help the Call Committee determine our Ministry Site characteristics, tasks, gifts, and mutual expectations. These questions are taken directly from the Ministry Site Profile (MSP). This survey will be given in two parts. We will use these responses to help potential pastors better understand the environment at Bethany English Lutheran Church. Each survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete. We appreciate any input you are willing to provide. Thank you!

Pastor’s Message
"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!" - Psalm 27:14
Is there anyone that really prefers waiting over knowing, or doing something? When the grass needs to be mowed after a big rain and I’m ready to do it, I don’t want to wait until it is dry enough, but I know I should. If a friend and I have plans and they are running late, I don’t know what to do with myself if I’m ready to go. Both of these examples remind me that there is more going on than the timing of my needs in the world.
Our Psalm talks about waiting for the Lord, which can be even more difficult. The Israelites experienced this as they wandered through the desert for 40 years, a number in the Bible that indicated a long time. If we are asking God to move or act, it’s for something important that may feel very urgent to us, and we don’t want to wait. We aren’t in complete control over what happens and when.
The psalmist encourages us to be strong and let our hearts take courage before repeating that we are to wait. I’ve spoken before about the interim time being one for preparation, not just waiting to see who the next pastor will be, or what they will do. The church has been at work fine-tuning and evaluating our ministries and how we can live out our mission, and we continue to ask what can be done in this time as we do much more than wait. The call committee is reflecting on the gifts and needs of Bethany English in order to call the right person to continue God’s work here. We are all a part of God’s mission in this church, community and World. We pray that God will continue to call and guide each of us to serve.
God’s Peace,
Pastor Laura Kuntz

WE ARE A COMMUNITY OF FAITH THAT HAS BEEN WORSHIPING, LEARNING, SERVING, AND SOCIALIZING FOR OVER 100 YEARS.
The beautiful stained glass window sanctuary is accessible to all, and we encourage children to worship there as well or utilize the professionally staffed nursery. Communion is an important part of all Sunday services, and all who believe are invited to partake in the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
